A TEAM of dedicated volunteers gave a local dignitary a look behind the scenes to show her how they produce a talking newspaper.
Darlington Mayor Councillor Jan Taylor visited the offices of the Darlington and District Talking Newspaper ( DDTN) to see them in action.
The special guest was shown around the offices, which are based on the ground floor of the Northern Echo Building, and watched a recording of the weekly recording being made.
Chairman of the DDTN, David Smith said: “It was a delight to receive the Mayor in our offices. It’s been a great opportunity to let her know what sort of service we provide to the visually impaired living in Darlington. We pointed out that one of the reasons for our continued existence is due to the Northern Echo allowing us to use space in this building.”
