A YOUNG boy and his mum have been involved in a collision with a taxi in York this morning.

The collision happened in St Helen's Road, outside Dringhouses Primary School, at about 8.30am.

It involved a red taxi, a five-year-old boy and his 41-year-old mum, a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said.

He added: "The ambulance service were on scene to give treatment to cuts and bruises. The injuries are not believed to be serious.

"Officers are speaking to the driver of the taxi as part of the investigation, although he has not been arrested."
