THE New Earswick Swimming Pool has announced it will close permanently next year.
Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust who own and manage the pool told the New Earswick Swimming Club that “significant financial, structural and operational challenges” will mean the pool will be closed from the end of March, 2018.
A spokesman for the club said: “We are seeking an urgent meeting with the trust.” All sessions will continue to run as normal until March 31, and some pool time had already been found at other venues.
