FIREFIGHTERS faced the beefy task of rescuing a cow from the River Ouse in a village near York.
Crews from Acomb were called to the scene in Overton shortly after 5.35pm yesterday.
With the help of a farmer, they rescued the cow using farm machinery and manpower.
The cow was then reunited with the rest of the herd.
