POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a serious collision involving a cyclist.
It happened at about 9.15am today on the A168 in Thornton-le-Street, Thirsk, and involved a female cyclist in her 50s and a silver Nissan Micra.
The cyclist was taken to James Cook Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where she currently remains in a critical condition.
The female driver of the Micra was uninjured.
Officers are appealing to anyone who was in Thornton-le-Street this morning and witnessed the collision to contact them.
In addition they would like to speak to anyone with dash-cam footage of the collision.

The road was closed while officers carried out an examination of the scene. It reopened at noon.
