ALNE teenager Toby Price is one of eight Pentathlon GB youngsters to be selected for the annual Olympic Hopes competition, this year to be held in Prague.
In previous years, Pentathlon GB have sent inexperienced teams to the event to gain experience, but 2017 sees the competition upgraded as it carries Youth Olympic Games world ranking points meaning a forced change of policy in selection.
As a result, six of the athletes who competed at the Youth Olympics European Continental qualifier in Portugal last month, including Yorkshire Pentathlon Club starlet Price - will make the trip to the Czech Republic.
All eight athletes have seen international action during 2017 with Price in particular racking up the air miles.
He was the best-placed GB finisher in 14th at the Youth Olympics European Qualifier having claimed the silver medal at the British Under-17 Tetrathlon Championships earlier in the season.
The competition in Prague takes place from Friday, October 20 to Sunday 22, with the U19s boys' event on the Saturday and a mixed relay on the last day.
