A MAN who was arrested in connection with a police chase through York remains in hospital tonight (Thursday, September 28).
North Yorkshire Police were called to York railway station on Wednesday after a black Ford Mondeo taxi was stolen from the rank while the driver was loading bags. The car was driven at speed out of the city, before crashing into another vehicle on the A64 near Bilborough Top, and the driver fled.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without a licence, failing to stop and aggravated vehicle taking. He was not injured in the crash, but taken to York Hospital after claiming he felt unwell.
