A CINEMA’S support for those with dementia continues with a Hollywood classic.

Cineworld Middlesbrough’s Dementia Friendly screening of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers staring Jane Powell and Howard Keel will take place next month.

The special showing enables people living with dementia and their carers to attend the cinema in a safe and comfortable environment, giving them the chance to get out and socialise.

Screenings are open to everyone, but are enhanced to suit the needs of people living with dementia – during the film low lights are left on inside the auditorium, the volume of the soundtrack is reduced and it’s fine for members of the audience to express themselves.

Wheelchair spaces are limited so advance bookings are recommended. A flexible refund policy is in place.

The screening will take place on Monday, October 16 from 11am, with doors opening at 10.30am.
