A VARIETY of plants will be on show for Scampston’s Autumn Plant Fair.

Attracting keen gardeners from Yorkshire and further afield, the Autumn Plant Fair returns on September 24, 10am – 3pm.

Plants will be on sale from specialist stallholders, from the carnivorous Venus fly traps of Wacks Wicked Plants, to the ornamental grasses of Westshores nursery.

Isobel Pritchard, marketing & visitor services manager at Scampston Walled Garden, said: “Though the temptation is always to feel a little down as days get shorter and darker, there is still so much for gardeners to get excited about, and so much that can be done to keep the garden looking good into the winter.

“We’ve got a really great variety of plants on offer this autumn, mostly from local stallholders and nurseries with some really unusual plants. Our own plant sales area is also packed with some lovely perennials and grasses.

“Tickets also include entry into the Walled Garden and Parkland, meaning there is plenty of inspiration to be found for the green-fingered. The naturalistic planting in the Walled Garden is designed to last well into autumn, with beautiful burnt oranges and amber tones emerging.”

Tickets cost £7.50 for adults and children enter for free.

Lunches and home-made cream teas will be available throughout the day in the Walled Garden Café.
