RYEDALE cadet squadron has taken part in an aviation day at RAF Topcliffe - helping the RAF train for a mass evacuation event.
The cadets, alongside staff from 1323 (Ryedale) Squadron, joined about 1,200 other personnel for North Region Cadet Aviation Day.
Flight Sergeant Colin Bell said: “This has been a fantastic day and opportunity for both cadets and staff alike, seeing close up how the RAF would operate in a real world crisis.
“To fly in Puma and Chinook helicopters will be a once in a lifetime experience for most of the people here and will be treasured for life.”
1323 (Ryedale) Sqn Air Cadets offer a wide range of activities for 12-18 year olds. Their next Open Evening is on September 29.
