A STUDENT is taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Marie Curie.
Rebecca Champion, from Pickering, is trekking with her friend Katie Roethenbaugh, who she met at university.
Rebecca said: “As my mum was working as a carer for social services, she was working alongside Marie Curie nurses in people’s homes and I thought the work they did was amazing. Therefore I chose Marie Curie as the charity to raise money for.
“The thing I am most looking forward to is getting to the top and the views both when we are walking up the mountain and whilst we are travelling through Tanzania. There is nothing that I’m not looking forward to apart from possibly being affected by altitude.”
Rebecca has so far raised a fantastic £4,158 for Marie Curie. To sponsor her, go to justgiving.com/fundraising/rebecca-champion1
