NORTON College secures a place in the top 20% of all schools with brilliant results, head teacher Phil Loftus said.
He added:"In a new demanding landscape of English and Maths GCSE, graded 9-1, the high standards of Norton College have been maintained. Students, staff and families celebrated another brilliant set of results which placed the school in the top 20% of all schools. Once again almost 75% of students secured good passes in these critical subjects."
Mr Loftus said: “We are so pleased that students and staff’s best efforts have been rewarded. Despite the bar being raised, Norton’s students and staff have risen to the challenge. I could not be more proud of their achievements.”
Simon Carson, Senior Deputy, added, “These new GCSE are demanding and have raised the bar for students and staff. To achieve yet another set of brilliant results shows what can be achieved with self belief and hard work.”
Jess Purvis, Progress Leader for Year 11, summed up the feelings of the teachers by saying, “We are so proud of all the students’ outstanding achievements across the subjects, this shows their resilience and hard work over the two years of their studies at GCSE.”
