DRIVERS have been urged to avoid a section of the A64 following a four-vehicle crash.

North Yorkshire Police were called to the A64 between Copmanthorpe and Fulford at about 2.35pm, to reports of the crash, which a spokeswoman said had been caused by a deer in the central reservation.

The spokeswoman said emergency services were at the scene, but nobody in the vehicles appeared to have been seriously injured.

The road is currently closed to allow the vehicles to be recovered, and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
