WELLIES and boots were the required footwear for the 98th Thornton-le-Dale Show today.
Heavy rain for over 24 hours before the event led to a muddy showground, however organisers were undetered and the show went ahead as normal.
Chairman Martin Blythe, said: "We have had an unprecedented amount of rain not just over the past day but over the last two and a half weeks, however the committee has never considered cancelling the show.
"Everybody has worked hard to get it set up and keep things going ajnd on the day itself the weather has been perfect. Country folk know what conditions to expect and have come prepared to enjoy a great family day out."
