A RISING star of opera is preparing to take part in Castle Howard’s 27th Summer Proms.

Soprano Joanna Forest, whose debut album Stars Are Rising went straight to number one in the classical charts earlier this year, will perform in the outdoor concert on Saturday, August 19.

She will be joined by Classical Brit award-winners Blake - three young men who have sold more than a million albums and clocked up number one hits in 10 countries and nearly 150 TV appearances around the globe.

The London Gala Orchestra will also be playing popular classics, songs from musicals and Proms favourites, including Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Pomp & Circumstance.

Castle Howard’s marketing manager Rachel Underwood said: “The Proms is a great opportunity to bring family and friends together for an open-air celebration; bring along picnics, drinks, tables and chairs and set up on the lawn for the perfect summer event.”

Tickets costing £32.50 for adults and £5 children can be purchased by going to castlehoward.co.uk
