RYEDALE Special Families (RSF) have received a grant from The Morrisons Foundation, which aims to make a positive difference to people living across the UK.
It is funded by a number of revenue streams and is the chief recipient of the money generated through the sale of carrier bags. A proportion of the money generated by charity scratch-cards and clothing banks in Morrisons stores is also used.
RSF chief officer Lisa Keenan said: “ We were granted £9,800 from Morrisons for our family activity programme. It’s a huge boost for our charity, we are delighted with the support.”
The charity, which supports families of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs runs a year round activity programme to bring families together.
Lisa said: “It’s a great way for families to support each other - families can often feel isolated and this is a practical way to change things. The programme is fully dependent on grants, so this award means a lot to RSF.”
