POLICE have issued a warning about bogus Tarmac sellers in the Helmsley area.
Ryedale Police said they had received two calls from members of the public in the area regarding the suspect sellers.
In a community message they said of the sellers: "They usually say they are working on behalf of the council and have over-ordered on Tarmac, and would the owner like their driveway doing?
"They will normally give a cheap quote but on completion of the job they will tell you the cost at a massively inflated price, usually three times the original quote."
Police added: "Do not accept any work being done by these males.
"They do not work for the council.
"Please report these males straight to the police, and get the registration of the vehicle they are using."
