A FARMER has said that 22 sheep are 'missing believed stolen' from their field near Huttons Ambo.

The site is the same farm where 14 sheep and lambs were found dead in early June.

Police say that tests done into the bodies of those sheep found that the deaths were caused by "high levels of stress causing septicaemia".

The farmer told police that they believe that the 22 missing sheep were stolen on the same day/night as the 14 sheep were killed.

Police have put out a community message which states: "If anyone was out in the area close to Sawkill Farm and saw any suspicious activity from June 7 to June 8 please contact Police on 101, and quote incident no 12170126132.

"If you do see any suspicious activity regarding sheep being loaded onto wagons or vans, day or night, please contact police immediately."
