THE Milton Rooms in Malton opens its doors for a new regular blues club on Thursday, August 3.

The Ryedale Blues Club kicks off with the York-based band, the Dead Cats, in an evening hosted by local blues radio presenter Paul Winn.

“We have already had success with our recent jazz nights and we know there is a demand for this kind of live music. It’s an ideal opportunity for us to work with the best of local bands and presenters to reach new audiences,” said Milton Rooms chair, Merryn Wilderspin.

The Dead Cats have built a solid reputation on the local music scene following support slots with the likes of Dr Feelgood and playing a mix of cover versions and their own original material.

Their first album is in preparation and the band will be recording live at this gig.

If you like heavy blues with tasty guitar licks, wailing blues harp and a solid back line then look no further.

Tickets, priced £5, are on sale in advance from the Milton Rooms box office, telephone 01653 696240, or at the door. Show begins at 8pm.
