AMBITIOUS flower arrangements went on display at Castle Howard over the weekend.

More than 5,000 visitors enjoyed the annual In Bloom Flower Festival with a new lead designer and team of guest floral designers creating displays in all of the public rooms, including bold and modern designs in the Great Hall and Long Gallery.

Hannah Cooke, press and communications manager at Castle Howard, said: “This year’s Castle Howard in Bloom saw a team of 30 volunteers from across the north of England, led by Catherine Gledhill, create a range of fantastic and unique displays from the traditional to the contemporary and some show-stopping installations too.

“For the first time we also welcomed special guests and celebrated floral designers to lead talks and demonstrations which proved extremely popular with our visitors, especially as several of the visitors were lucky enough to win the magnificent arrangements created by the likes of Jonathan Moseley and Andrew Grisewood.

“As the festival continues to grow we look forward to an even bigger and better event next

year.”
