A FOUR-acre garden developed from a meadow plot is open to the public this weekend.
David and Maggie Lis, who live at Havoc Hall in Oswaldkirk, are taking part in the National Garden Scheme on Sunday, from 1pm to 5pm.
David said: “We first opened our garden in 2011 having developed the garden from a mainly lawn and meadow plot of four acres following our purchase of the house in the spring of 2008.
“The garden now comprises eight different areas, including a knot garden, herbaceous garden, woodland walk, orchard and vegetable garden."
To the south is a two-acre wild flower meadow and small lake. There is also an extensive collection of roses, herbaceous perennials and grasses.
Admission is £5 with children free. Home-made teas will also be available.
