TRIBUTES have been paid to a mum who died suddenly aged just 30.

Emma Anderson, was found unconscious at her home in Norton which she shared with her daughter, Michaela, and parents Kevin and Trudy in the early hours of Sunday, May 28. Her mum Trudy said: “We had been enjoying our usual Saturday evening with our neighbours and I had fallen asleep on the sofa.

“I woke up at around 1.45am to find Emma lying on the floor. I ran outside screaming and some of our neighbours came out and tried to resuscitate her. The ambulance then arrived but there was nothing they could do for her.”

Kevin and Trudy, who also have an older daughter, Louise, lost their son Michael eight years ago from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Kevin said: “Having to tell my daughter Louise her sister has gone was bad enough, but the worst was telling Emma’s daughter who is just seven that her mum has gone to heaven with her uncle Michael and seeing her world fall apart – was life meant to be so cruel?”

The couple said their daughter was very sociable and was a brilliant mum.

“She doted on Michaela, who was named after Michael, and would go without to make sure she had everything she needed,” Kevin added.

They said that everyone had been very supportive and the local community had rallied round them.

“We would like to thank everyone who has been there for us – they have been brilliant,” Trudy said.

“All our focus will now be on Michaela and looking after her and making her mum proud.”

A Just Giving page has been set up to support Kevin and Trudy by Lisa Ridsdale from Station Taxis in Norton, where Kevin is an operator.

Lisa said: “My mum and Trudy are best friends so I have known her all my life and I was at the hospital when Emma was born.

“When she was small she was a shy, beautiful girl with the biggest eyes and so sweet.

“To have this happen to Kevin and Trudy is heartbreaking and I wanted to do something practical to help them at this difficult time.”

Anyone who would like to make a donation can do so at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lisa-ridsdale or at Station Taxis’ office, Norton Road, Norton.

Emma’s funeral service will take place at St Leonard’s RC Church, Malton on Friday, June 16, at 1pm, followed by a burial at Norton cemetery.
