POLICE are appealing for information after two large stone lions were stolen from a garden.

The theft took place at an address on Hunmanby Street, Muston, on Wednesday May 17 at approximately 1.15pm.

It involved a silver saloon-style car driven by a man wearing dark clothing.

The man was seen to leave the car on Hunmanby Street and take two stone lion garden ornaments, valued at £35 each, before making off in the vehicle south towards Hunmanby.

Police are conducting enquiries and are "requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident."

In particular, they want information about the silver saloon-style car involved which may have been seen by anybody in the vicinity at or around the time of the theft - or if anybody has been offered the stolen items for sale recently.
