A TAXI driver has denied killing a student by the way he drove his Mondeo cab on Micklegate, York.
Frank Norman, 71, of Brunel Court, York, was making his first appearance before York Crown Court.
He denied a charge of causing the death of Robert Stephenson, 21, by careless driving on March 26, 2016. His trial was set for November 20.
Mr Stephenson, from Pickering, was on a night out with friends when he was fatally injured. He had studied at Lady Lumley’s School, and was in the third year of an agricultural degree at Newcastle University. He was also a keen sportsman.
