FOLLOWING the success of last year’s Elvis on the Green evening in Fadmoor, the village has decided to do it again this year.

The gig by an award-winning Elvis impersonator, is returning by popular demand and will take place on the green in Fadmoor on June 17, from 6.30pm to 10pm.

Like last year, attendees are being encouraged to bring chairs, gazebos, picnics, drinks and glasses for the summer evening of live entertainment.

They are also again being encouraged to dress up as Elvis for a look-a-like contest.

The Elvis performer won first place in a London Elvis competition judged by Donna Presley. He was also a finalist in the European championships and is a world-record wedding event holder.

New for this year is a support act for the “King”.

Organiser Gerry McMahon said: “Elvis is a brilliant performer we bring from London specially for the event, and this year we also have a supporting group from Scarborough, The Railroad Hobos, a great group, who are really popular in the locality and always attract a good audience.

“We hope it will be a good family event again.”

Tickets are £10 for an adult and accompanied children go free. Proceeds are in aid of the village hall.

For tickets, phone Jarvis on 01751 430842 for Fadmoor or Hawson on 01751 430119 for Gillamoor.
