CONCERNS have been raised over a dead cow which is floating in the River Derwent in Norton.
The cow, which was clearly seen near County Bridge for several days, has floated downstream over the night during the heavy rain.
In November 2015 a dead cow remained in the river for several weeks after various agencies said it was the responsibility of the owner to remove the animal.
Norton mayor Councillor Ray King said: "This is not something people want to see and this time I hope someone does take responsibility and removes the cow as quickly as possible."
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said they were investigating but believed it was the responsibility of the farmer.
