THE couple killed when they were struck by a minibus on the A64 have been identified.
They were Dave Tinker, 50, and Julie Gough, 52, from the Malton area, said North Yorkshire Police.
The accident happened just before midnight on Saturday evening, after the couple had got off a Coastliner bus at Crambeck, between York and Malton, and were crossing the road when they were hit by a black Renault minibus.
Their families said in a statement today: “Dave and Julie were very loved, and will be sorely missed by Julie’s two young sons and their respective families.”
Police urged anyone who witnessed the collision, or had any information, to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask to Emma Drummond or Mark Mullins.
"Alternatively, please email emma.drummond@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or mark.mullins@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk," said a spokesman. "Please quote reference 12170082711 when passing on information."
