THE ROOF of an empty bungalow in North Yorkshire was damaged after a fire spread from a wheelie bin.
Fire crews from Filey, Scarborough and Sherburn were called to the fire at about 1.20am today in Fountayne Road, Hunmanby, near Scarborough.
One of the bungalow's windows was also damaged and there was slight smoke damage to the interior of the property.
Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a roof ladder, triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the fire.
A fire investigation officer will be visiting the bungalow to confirm the cause.
