'Children' start fire in derelict building
FIRE crews were despatched to a fire last night believed to have been started by children.
Crews from Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley were called just before 8pm last night to a property in Swineherd Lane in Kirkbymoorside.
The fire had been started in the stairwell of an "empty, derelict" building.
A fire spokesperson said that the fire was believed to have been started by children.
Crews used one hose reel to extinguish the small fire and a thermal imaging camera to sweep for hotspots.
