MALTON is revving up for the town’s second Easter Eggstravaganza.

Last year’s amazing spectacle of 1,000 motorbikes arriving in the Market Place returns this Sunday, April 9, when once again Malton will play host to Squires Motorbike Café’s annual Charity Easter Egg Run.

Live music will be provided by the Cover Ups, and The Rusty Pegs, there will also be a number of food stalls.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) will be in attendance with their ‘heli-vehicle’ and there’ll also be a tombola in aid of Ryedale Special Families (RSF)

Event organiser Rob Davies, Funding Coordinator for RSF, said: “Last year’s event was unbelievable. We were expecting 500 bikes and double that amount turned up - what a sight.

"Once again we’ve organised lots of entertainment and vast majority of shops in the Market Place are planning to open, plus every child accompanied by an adult will receive a free Easter Egg!

"I’d like to thank everyone involved, for their support in helping to make this happen."

Squires Egg Run Organiser Chris Eden said: “We’re thrilled at the prospects of returning to Malton. Last year people were extremely welcoming and supportive and as a result we were able to raise almost £5,000 for RSF and YAA.”

The event will start from 11.30 with the arrival of the motorbikes scheduled for 12.30 and there is a full programme of live music to 4.30pm.
