A WOMAN awoke to find one of her tyres slashed on Thursday and now police are appealing for witnesses.

The criminal damage occurred on Nelson Street in Scarborough.

It happened between 9:30pm on Wednesday, March 22 and 8:30am the following morning, when the victim awoke to find one of the tyres on her vehicle had been slashed.

The vehicle was a black Ford Focus that had been parked on the Columbus Ravine end of Nelson Street.

North Yorkshire Police are now in the process of conducting enquiries in an attempt to identify those responsible for the damage.
