STUDENTS and staff at Lady Lumley’s School in Pickering have been putting their cooking skills to the test in an inter-house bake-off.

Following three rounds, the finalist were asked to get creative with an amazing display of biscuits.

A school spokesman said: “Both students and staff worked hard to get their creations on the judging table in just 70 minutes. The presentation of these bakes was excellent, displaying the bakers’ theme and creativity.”

The bakes were judged by the head boy and girl Josh Spittal and Hannah Woodward and their deputies Amy Paterson and Josh Davies.

The results of the three rounds were added together to get an overall total for each student. The final standings were:

Hollie Gill (Hainsworth - 50), Millie Hattersley (Acland - 40), Felicity Lloyd (Highfield- 30), Sky Tarry and Abbie Peacock (Highfield - 20), Emily Hunt (Fe - 20) and Amy Ring (Acland - 20), Abbie Henry (Hainsworth - 15), Olivia Goldy (Hainsworth - 10), Erin Muscroft (Feversham - 10), Molly Harland (Feversham - 8), Charlotte Hall (Feversham - 8), Cassius Jones (Feversham - 5).

“Congratulations to all the students who produced some exceptional bakes over the three rounds - you should be extremely proud of yourselves,” said the spokesman.

“A huge thank you to all staff who helped make the bake-off a possibility, especially Kim Buffoni and Bev Hainsworth for the use of their room and their expertise.”
