A KIRKBYMOORSIDE store has won a national competition for its creative shop window.
The Home Decorating Centre, in Market Place, was selected from hundreds of others to win the contest run by fabric company iLiv.
Shop owner Marie Atkinson said the competition had been open to shops across the country.
“There wasn’t a theme, we were just left to use our imaginations and come up with a way of displaying a new fabric collection,” she said.
“For our display I made a tree, cutting out leaf shapes which were covered in the fabric.”
Marie, who has run the Home Decorating Centre for 16 years, said she had been amazed when she found out the shop had won.
“I was delighted - it is really amazing for a small shop like us to win a national competition,” she said.
