HUNDREDS of schools in the county are raising awareness of online safety.
North Yorkshire County Council’s most recent Growing up in North Yorkshire Survey, which the authority carries out with schools every two years, showed that 97 per cent of children aged five to seven have a computer, tablet or mobile device at home - highlighting the risks young people could be exposed to.
Yesterday’s Safer Internet Day saw youngsters warned of the dangers that could leave them open to abuse online.
