A WEST Knapton man who has just moved house no longer has to worry about heating costs, after he won 500 litres of heating oil in a Gazette & Herald competition.

Robin Stevens, 25, a mechanical engineer, has just moved out of his parent’s house in Pickering to his first home, and needed to order fuel for winter.

He is now the winner of 500 litres of heating oil from Hull company Rix Petroleum.

Mr Stevens said: "I was elated to win, it was great news. It has come just at the right time. I didn’t expect to win so when I found out I had I was really pleased."

The competition involved collecting five tokens from the Gazette & Herald. The winner was selected at random by the newspaper.

Mr Stevens took delivery of his heating oil last month, meaning he is fully stocked up for winter.

Duncan Lambert, director and general manager of Rix Petroleum Ltd, said: "We like to bring some festive cheer to the season by giving people the opportunity to win 500 litres of fuel, delivered free to their door. After all, it’s a good feeling to know you are fully prepared for all the British weather can throw at you.

"It was a particular pleasure to deliver to Robin who is just starting out in his new home. We hope he is very happy there and would like to wish him all the very best for the future."
