I AM sure most of your readers share Mr Isaac’s anguish for the orphans in Aleppo (Letters, December 17).

But in referring to UK overseas aid and the response of the Arab League, he touches on diplomacy.

Even notoriously outspoken Boris Johnson would not have the bare-faced cheek to lecture the Arab League on regional responsibility and co-operation since he is the Foreign Secretary of a country that is unilaterally abrogating in a hissy fit a 40-year treaty of regional co-operation with close neighbouring countries we have been at peace with for 70 years.

We are signing away our diplomatic integrity.
