MALTON Christmas Food Market takes place this Saturday.
The perfect place to buy all your festive goodies, Malton’s Christmas food market will be packed full of superb festive food, gift ideas, live chef demos and Talbot Yard Food Court offering Christmas specials.
As well as the Christmas market with the usual fresh produce there will be seasonal street food with hog roast, sausages galore, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and much more.
In addition to the 50-plus stalls at the food market there will be a full programme of seasonal entertainment:
10.30 am – 12noon: The Penny Plain Theatre Company will be providing Victorian street theatre performances as well as their ‘Human Vegetable Machine’.
12noion – 12.30pm: Rock Choir
12.30pm – 1.45pm: Malton School Jazz band
1.45pm – close: The Grand Old Uke of York.
Also, as part of the Dickensian Festival, from 11am until 2pm there will be Horse & Carriage rides around town starting and finishing in the Market Place.
Market director Tom Naylor-Leyland, said: :"As the inspiration for Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ Malton takes Christmas very seriously. Expect carol singing, mulled wine and the Dickensian society dressed up to the nines.
