THE Boon Hill Show, which took place in August, raised £7,000 for charity, the organisers have revealed.

To celebrate, the organisers held an evening of celebration to thank the many volunteers for all their hard work running the show, and the Woodmansey Family for their continued support.

As part of the night, £4,000 was presented to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and £3,000 to Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue.

The 2016 Boon Hill country show, held on Saturday, August 13, was labelled "outstanding" due to its record crowds and good weather.

The show specialises in horse riding and showjumping, terrier classes and vintage tractors, as well as cookery, horticulture, crafts and ferrets.
