A CELEBRATION of a former history teacher’s life will take place on Saturday.
Sonia Oldtree Rose worked at Fulford School from 1974 to 1994 and was killed in a crash on the A19 in September.
The 83-year-old was close to the A684 Ellerbeck junction near Northallerton when she was involved in the smash with another vehicle as she travelled from her home in Thirsk.
Mrs Rose, originally from Bradford, was on her way to Great Ayton to meet one of her walking groups.
The mother of four and grandmother of three children had just returned from a two-week holiday in Mussidan, France, with a family she first au-paired for in 1950, and remained close to her whole life.
The celebration of life will take place at The Hospitium, Museum Gardens, on Saturday, November 26, at 1pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend the service.
