THIEVES have broken into a shed and stolen two road bikes worth about £4,000.

The burglary took place on Briar Hill, Danby on Wednesday, September 28 at around 2.30am.

A person or persons unknown gained access to an adjoining shed and stole two Specialized road bikes.

One is a Ruby Elite with a black and turquoise frame. It has a Bike Scene sticker on the frame and is valued at around £1,300.

The other is an S-Works ROUBAIX with a 56-inch frame, black and green, with PRO tyres. It is valued at around £2,700.

North Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to the theft or information - particularly about any suspicious vehicles that may have been sighted in the area around the time specified.
