A HOUSE in Ampleforth has been burgled and police have put out a call for witnesses.
On Saturday, October 15, between 6pm and 7.15pm, a house in the village was entered via the front door, which was unlocked.
The owners were inside at the time.
The offender - or offenders - went into the premises and stole the owner's handbag which contained valuables belonging to her.
They then left the house, leaving the door ajar.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or information about the burglary.
