A GROUP of Norton women are raising money for the charity Stand Up To Cancer by putting on exercise classes.

The Fit Fest will take place on Sunday, from 10am to 4.30pm, at the Ryedale Community Leisure Centre in Bowling Lane.

One of the organisers, Angela Baker, said anyone can come along, with families welcome.

"It's £3 per class and each class lasts 30 minutes," she added.

There are a huge number of classes on offer. These include pilates, step aerobics, circuit training, zumba and legs, bums and tums. The instructors will also be offering fitness workouts such as kettlercise, a body transformation and toning class using kettlebells which combines around 30 exercises that last one minute each, and PiYo, a combination of pilates and yoga.

The classes are raising money for Stand Up To Cancer, a charity which funds translational research – this takes developments in the lab and transforms them into new tests and treatments for cancer patients.

Fit Fest will also include some refreshments on sale to raise more funds.
