AS A Leeman Road resident I feel I must put pen to paper regarding the recycling procedure in terraced homes.
We are supplied with three boxes for recycling. However, the boxes have to be placed outside our front door for collection. This involves carrying the heavy, often wet boxes through our homes every fortnight.
To cap everything the bin men empty the contents of three boxes into one, which is then tipped into the truck!
I’m lucky, fortunately my health and strength is an advantage but how do the elderly and less able manage this procedure?
It makes you realise why some people choose to place refuse in or around a public bin instead.
