I refer to the story ‘Call for big new eco town on edge of York’ (September 24). Now then, where is this monstrosity going built? If you go towards Scarbourgh you have farming land, and green belt sites. If you go towards Leeds, no way will you build anywhere there. Are you going to build on farming land? We need this to feed the population of York, and the rest of the country.
One remembers many moons ago something similar being built on Lakes Estates just outside of Redcar. This was built cheaply, a sprawling mass. You could hear next door when the people were talking. Is this going to happen when this eco town is built, if it is ever built?
