A BURGLAR is being hunted by police who want to send him back to prison.

Scott Stephen Watson, 27, was released from prison in March, having been jailed for 52 weeks in March 2014 for burgling a house in Lowdale Avenue, Scarborough, on November 18, 2013.

Police say that Watson breached his prison release licence after he was arrested and charged for a string of alleged theft of food from local shops in August and September.

He is due to appear at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on October 10 in relation to these offences.

The Probation Service have now authorised a warrant for his arrest and a recall to prison for "failing to abide by his prison release licence of not committing any offences".

Watson is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, with short dark-brown hair, blue eyes, and of a medium build.

As well as the Eastfield area of Scarborough and Ryedale, Watson also has links in Middlesbrough.

Anyone with information that could help track down Scott Watson, including possible sightings, is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
