THREE colleagues from Kirkbymoorside Surgery are taking on the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks this weekend in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

Nicola Ward, Gillian Allanson and Sue O' Vastar will be striding out on the 26-mile route starting at Horton-in-Ribblesdale and conquering Pen-y-Ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m).

Gillian said: “Last year my friend's three year old son Joseph was diagnosed with a rare cancer. Following six months of chemotherapy, Joseph is thankfully now in remission and I decided to fundraise for a cancer charity to express my gratitude for the care he received

“I wasn’t brave enough to embark on this huge challenge on my own, so I was delighted when my two amazing work colleagues Nicola and Sue agreed to also take on the challenge with me.

"We chose St Catherine’s Hospice as it is our local charity, offering help and support to people with life limiting illnesses.”
