FOSTON Primary School is celebrating an "outstanding" report following a recent inspection.

The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) focuses on the effect that the Christian ethos has on the children who attend it.

In a report the inspector said: “Christian values in action result in excellent relationships, behaviour and attitudes to work that enable all pupils to develop academically and socially.

"The Christian values form strong foundations for the excellent care, guidance and support offered to our children. The inclusive nature of Foston Primary School for children of all abilities and need is clearly reflected in the outstanding provision recognised by the inspector."

Headteacher Sarah Moore said: "It has been a fabulous year for Foston CE Primary School. Beginning with a good Ofsted, under very tough new criteria, with many areas of strength in school and finishing the year with an outstanding grade for its church schools inspection.

"We are delighted with the outcome and feel the report highlights the caring, family atmosphere of our small village school. To us it is important that every child counts and that every child makes good progress. The inspection is reflective of the hardwork all staff, governors, parents and children put in to make Foston CE Primary School the best start to any child’s education.”
