EMERGENCY services and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called to the scene of a serious crash on the A64.
The road was closed following the crash, which involved a heavy goods vehicle and a car, and happened at about 4.25pm near Flaxton, York.
Local diversions were put in place, and a spokesman for North Yorkshire police advised motorists to avoid the area.
North Yorkshire Police said the road was reopen to traffic at about 5.45pm, and those involved in the crash had suffered minor injuries.
