A FIRE has spread from a tractor to an adjacent barn on a farm in northern Ryedale.

Fire crews were called shortly after 1pm this afternoon to Newlands Farm, Rosedale.

Four appliances from Danby, Malton, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside reportedly attended the incident.

The fire is understood to have started in a tractor before spreading to a nearby barn.

A fire spokesperson said that, as of 3.50pm, fire crews and officers were still at the scene, using main jets, ground monitors and hosereel jets to fight the fire. They also confirmed that no-one was hurt in the fire.

A witness said: "Newlands Farm is the home of the Wilson family and although they were shocked by the suddenness of the fire, thankfully no-one was injured."
