A NEW hair and beauty salon has opened in Kirkbymoorside - with a name partly inspired by the owner's late father.
Love My Hair has been opened by stylist Kirsty Lawrence. She said her vision was to provide a one-stop-shop for all hair and beauty needs, creating a place where "you can be truly pampered from head to toe".
The name of the salon is also an allusion to Kirsty's father, Lee Michael Hodgson, a mechanic who died earlier this year, who was also a proud business owner.
Ms Lawrence said: "My inspiration to own my salon came from my dad, which is why the salon is named after my dad's initials.
"Proudly he will always be part of my business. Although my dad is no longer with us I will forever be inspired by him."
Ms Lawrence has six years' experience as a stylist, and ran a successful business as a freelance hairdresser before deciding to take the plunge of opening her own salon. She has a NVQ level 3 in advanced hairdressing, and is a fully qualified barber.
She says she aims to bring with her a funky, modern approach to hairdressing, as well as a wealth of knowledge of all arts of hair dressing, colour, cuts and perms.
Beauty treatments will also be available via the on-site beautician Lucy, who offers a full range of beauty treatments.
